SPRITE TRIPLE SLAM TWENTY ELEVEN... In Pictures*

Sprite Triple Slam is a yearly Coca-Cola activation that involves basketball, music and dance. The competition is a unique display of talent that sees winners emerge from different states to compete in a grand finale where an overall winner emerges from each category. The major motivation around STS is to connect with the core target - older teens aged between 16 and 24, with an urbane lifestyle, who are creative and disruptive in their thinking and who have certain passion, points Mr Austin Ufomba, Marketing Director , Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited. He added “To get the attention of the consumers require that you have to meet them at the point of need and be part of their lifestyle. The Sprite targets are eager to take a bottle of Sprite to spark-up their creativity. So, we thought of how well to get this young urbane youths to spark up their creativity and do what they know how to do best. This motivation gave birth to the STS. It’s also an opportunity to inspire those who have an innate energy or skill to come and compete and be who they want to be. STS is out to inspire  youths to aspire to greatness via their passion.”

OVERDOSE, IYANYA, PRAIZ SET TO HEADLINE SPRITE TRIPLE SLAM 2011

Organisers of the annual Sprite Triple Slam (STS) show have revealed that the 2011 edition, billed to hold in Abuja, Calabar, Enugu and Lagos, will be headlined by rapper Overdose and singers Iyanya, Praiz and DIL. The organisers made this known on Monday June 6 at a press conference, adding that this fourth edition comes with a difference as contestants will be rewarded individually as opposed to being appraised as a team which was obtainable in previous edition. Speaking on the show, Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, Strategic Marketing Manager Sprite, stressed the brand's commitment to the youth.

"Sprite stands for the altitude, edginess and swagger of the urbane youth and initiated Sprite Triple Slam to further strengthen its connection with consumers. It is hinged on the three passion points of today's youth; dance, music and basketball," Bayo-Ajayi said.

Prospective contestants will compete in three categories basketball, dance and music as they battle out for the grand prize of N1 million. Regional activations will begin in Enugu on July 1, Calabar on July 8 while that of Abuja and Lagos will hold on July 15 and 22, respectively. The grand finale has been scheduled for Monday August 8, 2011 in Lagos.
