ACE VIDEO DIRECTOR AK ONE INTRODUCES 'ALEJO'

The history of video making in the new age Nigerian music industry will not be complete with the absence of the name AK ONE. The seasoned video director who has successfully carved a niche for himself with strings of top-notch videos and TV commercials has been absent from the scene for a long while. Well, the absence wasn’t cos he went idle, the young man was actually shooting an international TV series, working on a rebrand for his music video and himself personally, and putting together his label. Now that he has gotten it all together, it’s time to resume work. Hence, we introduce ALEJO.

ALEJO, born Celestine Adeeko, is the first artiste on AK ONE’s record label ONE DREAM PROJEKT. ALEJO is a songwriter, producer and instrumentalist who grew up listening to the likes of Ebenezer Obey and  Segun Adewale. He is a former band member of TOSYN BUCKNOR’s CON.TRA.DICTION and together with singer HAKYM he co-produced several hit songs for the likes of Kel, Iyanya, Jafextra, Slim T and Hakym himself.

AK ONE just released the video for ALEJO's first single  LET ME HOLD YOU. Different kind of song, exciting set for a video. His dream at ONE DREAM believe this is definitely something that’ll be fresh and distinct for a long long time.

"NOT YOUR MAN" - UCEE BLACK's MESSAGE IN A SONG"

"...Baby you and me, been dey so good as friends

Sisi, you and me… e don teey wey we be friends

We had a good thing, your friendship – it means so much to me

So how could we, do something like this

Everybody know say, friends and sex no dey meet

But E don happen, we don… “mmm”… and I’ve got to deal with this Oh no

Chorus: Girl am begging you, am begging you – kill this love you feel

Sisi am warning you, am warning you – don’t get too close to me

Cos am not the man you’re looking for (x3) No No…

This is what verse 2 of this interesting song says; I couldn't help but listen to it over and over again and imagine how "handy" the song will come in for the guys; you know... the type of men who are "not ready" for anything serious or futuristic (as the case maybe) that will come out of the relationship. Interestingly, it has a closing line that re-assures you he knows what he is saying...

“I no fit be… the man you looking for

But I can be your best friend; nothing more!”

This new single titled 'Not your man' is an upbeat tune produced by LeriQ, one of PortHarcourt's finests and it combines Ucee Black's unique vocals and engaging lyrics to deliver a classic naija Pop piece that makes one just want to dance, while the message is as clear as possible. This release represents a step closer to the drop of Ucee Black's debut album titled 'Work & Play' scheduled for release later this year.

Twenty Eleven Channel O MVAs... and the Nigerian Factors *wink*

This year's Channel O Music Video Awards nominee list was announced on Thursday August 16, 2011 in Johannesbourg, as the music hub put up a launch party.
