The new face of Dancehall...

Very few artistes quit the scene for one reason or the other and still return with their talent and charisma intact. In fact it takes a thoroughbred artiste to return after a long hiatus to find a place in today’s breakneck music scene. Perhaps, one has to be a Daniel D Prince to quit the scene to pursue an entirely different endeavour only to return with a mindboggling repertoire ready to explode. The truth is, if Daniel delivered good music a while back, this time around, like a bait, he seems to be dangling an exotic, irresistible and princely body work.

Born Daniel A. Ikodor, the Edo State native was born and bred in Lagos. As a youngster, he became fascinated with the art of music and dance, with particular bias for dance. Eventually, he found his way into a dance group called L.X.G at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Ketu a suburb of Lagos, where he became group leader.

After a while, his singing talent began to beckon and the young Daniel soon gave in as he started recording vocals on instrumentals for the group. The group went on to become area superstars around their hood, Ketu and even beyond. After a while, the appeal of the dance group began to dim, and as time pronounce him ripe enough for bigger things. In 2005, he suddenly found himself writing his own songs and behold a recording career was born. In 2006, he invaded the scene when he released 4 singles which was on its way to making a deserved impact when he suddenly bowed to pressure to acquire formal education. He moved to Edo State, University of Benin to be precise, where he graduated as a Computer Scientist.

While in the University, he still found time to assuage his musical yearnings by performing in lots of gigs within the South South, Southeast and Southwest. Not satisfied with his academic accomplishments, the vibrant and talented Afro/Raggae act had to travel to far away Malaysia where he took a course in Information Technology while doing music full time. Now the prince is back, itching to unleash his wealth of experience garnered over the years on the Naija music scene by dropping his brand new single titled “Blow Up”. And to give the new single adequate push, the artist has enlisted the support of photon solutions as his management, while the single is dropping under Street Hype Entertainment imprint.
